The Tera Preta right after mixing all of the components. It was as if it was alive. A burst of fresh air rose like you were standing at a waterfall – very interesting.
Hi Greg
Greetings from the UK
I have just started this year trying to make my own Terra Preta.
I am using wood charcoal fines, fines to 10mm,
adding spent mushroom compost and a sprinkling of Nitrates
The idea being the nitrates will stop any robbing of nitrates by the charcoal
The spent mushroom compost to kick start a fungal entry into the charcoal
I cannot see any advantage of using pottery it seems to me that it was only used originally to help raise the land . Please correctly if I am wrong
I would appreciate any comments on my mix and Kean to learn how other go about making Terra Preta
Best wishes
Len
